Someone in the Dominican Republic was showing off a feature in their new Volvo recently, where it’s supposed to detect people in front of the car, and hit the brakes so you don’t hit them.
There’s a video where two guys are standing in front of it, totally confident it’ll stop . . . then it plows right into them.
According to Volvo, it happened because the car DIDN’T actually have the feature he was trying to show off. You have to pay extra for it. And even if it did have the feature, it wouldn’t have worked, because the driver was slamming on the gas so hard.
It’s not clear if either of the guys who got hit were the owner. But luckily, they’re both okay.
