Was that Will?

Your eyes were not deceiving you-that was Will Ferrell guest-starring in Sunday night’s episode of The Last Man on Earth. We’ve been in a glass case of emotion since seeing the Anchorman star drop by LMOE, presumably to cause a LOT of trouble for Will Forte’s Phil Miller.

Or not, because he appeared to be dead (or at least not doing so well) after Carol surprised him on the beach. Oops!

As a special treat-as if Ferrell’s appearance weren’t enough-E! News has gotten ahold of an exclusive photo of the two Wills hanging out on set.

Sunday’s episode also saw the return of the rest of our favorite survivors, including January Jones’ Melissa, Mary Steenburgen’s Gail, Boris Kodjoe’s other Phil Miller and more after they abandoned the community they built in Arizona and moved out West to Malibu.

The series stars Forte as the not-so Last Man on Earth following a virus that wipes out most of the world’s population, and Kristen Schaal as Carol, his fellow survivor-turned-wife.

Ferrell most recently appeared in an HBO special called Ferrell Takes the Field, where he played during five Major League Baseball training games, ultimately playing all nine positions for ten different professional baseball teams. He also co-starred in the IFC miniseries The Spoils Before Dying, and has had small roles on 30 Rock, The Office, Welcome to Sweden, and Eastbound and Down, in addition to his million and a half movie roles.

The Last Man on Earth airs Sundays at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
