4th of July Celebration at the Landing
Come spend the 4th at the Fort Walton Landing on Brooks Street on Saturday, July 4th, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and enjoy food and exhibitor booths. The event will also include live music, entertainment, and children’s activities including bounce houses, inflatable slides, and face painting. Spirits will soar and flags will wave as July 4th festivities kick off at HarborWalk Village with live music on the main stage, fireworks over the Destin Harbor and one big American celebration on Florida’s Emerald Coast?!

Let freedom, ring, rock and roll with a charming trio, the Victory Belles? revive WWII classics in throwback tailored dresses, coiffed curls, red lipstick and vintage charm at 5:30 PM on the main stage. The patriotic salute continues with authentic American Honky Tonk by The Modern Eldorados at 7:00 PM, blending rockabilly with traditional country music, the band pays tribute to the essence of Ray Price, Webb Pierce, Hank Williams and Carl Perkins.

Grab a good seat because the celebration ends with a bang, fireworks at 9:00 PM over the Destin Harbor!


Niceville/Valparaiso 4th of July

The 2015 July 4 fireworks show in Niceville will be held on Saturday, July 4. The popular annual fireworks show  over Boggy Bayou will begin at dusk.

Pre-show music begins around 8 p.m. Fireworks will be launched over Boggy Bayou from a barge anchored between Lincoln Park in Valparaiso and Lions Park in Niceville.

The colorful fireworks display is one of the largest in the area. More than a ton of fireworks are typically fired and the show always includes a spectacular finale. Patriotic music is played throughout the show.

The most popular places for public viewing of the annual fireworks show are Lincoln Park in Valparaiso, Lions Park in Niceville and the Turkey Creek area in Niceville. Parking is limited.

The annual fireworks show is funded by donations, t-shirt sales, aluminum can recycling, pork butt sales and the Fireworks Trust Fund. The annual cost is near $25,000.

The City of Valparaiso will hold its Annual 5K Run and 200M Swim Duathlon on Saturday, July 4. This year’s event also features two new competitions – a one mile Fun Run and a Paddleboard Race. The first event begins at 7 a.m.

Pre-registration is available and registration (on day-of-event) begins at 6:15 a.m. in Valparaiso’s Lincoln Park. Registration is required to participate in any and all events. Registered participants will receive a free t-shirt (excludes 1 mile Fun Run) while supplies last. The cost is $20 if paid by June 26. Otherwise, the cost is $25.

The Duathlon begins at 7 a.m. at Lincoln Park, Bayshore Drive, with a 5K run to Lewis School (near Eglin’s East Gate) and back. The racing route is mostly flat with a few hills and several curves which run along the picturesque shoreline of Boggy and Tom’s Bayous. Water stations will be provided along the race course and splits will be read at each mile. The 200 meter swim course is in Boggy Bayou and begins and ends at Lincoln Park’s beach. NW Florida Heritage Museum

Take a break from the heat, bring your family and friends to the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida this July 4th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and take advantage of $1 admission, FREE for Museum Members and children 4 & under.

View historic exhibits including the all new “Pieces of the Past: Okaloosa’s Centennial” exhibit commemorating 100 years of Okaloosa County history, as well as Military, Native American, Pioneer, and Early Industries such as, Turpentine, Boat Building and Fishing.  Play in the hands-on “Discovery Room” for children, and stroll in the “Paradise Gardens” outdoor exhibit.

There will be children’s holiday crafts and all guests will receive a free American flag or poster while supplies last.

Join Fort Walton Beach First United Methodist Church (FWB First UMC) for its 11th Annual Freedom Festival on July 4, 2015. The festival will be held from 6-9pm on the side lawn of the church. The event is free and open to the public.

There will be food, fellowship, 2 water slides, patriotic music sung by the choir, and activities for all ages. The event will conclude by watching the Fort Walton Beach fireworks, which are fully visible from the church grounds. Festival goers are encouraged to bring bathing suits and towels for the kids and folding chairs or blankets for seating.

Fireworks will launch from Navarre Beach Marine Park after sunset (approx 9pm) Saturday July 4th.  Fireworks will be visible from both the beach and the sound side east and west of the Navarre Beach Causeway bridge.

Join your friends and neighbors for the annual July 4th Parade down Scenic Highway 30A and concluding in Seaside with even more fun.

The parade begins in Seagrove Beach and travels down 30A, ending in Seaside. After the parade, stick around for the awards presentation, face painting and fun with 30A Radio.
