On Tuesday (June 10), Karol G unveiled the cover art and release date of her upcoming album, Tropicoqueta, which is set to be released on June 20th. “Traveling the world with my last album, I kept asking myself the same question: ‘What’s the next step?’” the Grammy-winning singer captioned her post. “It wasn’t a matter of looking further, but of looking within.” Karol promises that her new record is a return “back to the roots, to the songs I grew up listening to, to the sounds that made me fall in love with music. This album is soul, it’s passion, memory, it’s nostalgia, it’s joy, it’s party, it’s identity.” In May, the Colombian music superstar released the first single from her new era, “Latina Foreva,” and she closed her post by reinforcing the sweltering vibes of her current project by writing, “Summer starts with us… just like last year.” (Rolling Stone)
