Kacey Musgraves paid tribute to Dolly Parton during her August 28 concert at TD Garden in Boston, honoring the country music legend just days after her death at age 80.
During the show, Musgraves spoke about Parton’s influence before dedicating her song Rainbow to her memory. She then performed Parton’s 1977 hit Here You Come Again, with the Boston audience joining her for the familiar chorus.
The song has a history in Musgraves’ career. In 2019, she performed Here You Come Again alongside Parton and Katy Perry as part of a Grammy Awards tribute celebrating Parton’s music and legacy.
Parton died on August 25 after a brief battle with cancer. Her career stretched across more than six decades and included major country and pop hits such as Jolene, I Will Always Love You and 9 to 5.
Beyond music, Parton was widely recognized for her philanthropy, including her longtime support of childhood literacy through the Imagination Library.
